The bar area has a superb selection of beers, and the chap running it is an absolute legend! I nibbled on some delicious Indian takeaway from the place opposite, which served up generous portions. The stay felt all the cozier with the crackling atmosphere of the pub below.
Access to the stairs can be a bit tricky, especially for those recovering from something like cancer treatment. A hairdryer would have been a nice touch, and a steamer for clothes would be a proper lifesaver!

friendly staff , but mixed feelings about sleep quality
Check-in was seamless , with staff greeting me warmly. The room was surprisingly quiet , allowing for a good night's rest despite the hotel being above a lively pub. I particularly enjoyed the variety of real ales available in the bar, reflecting a well-curated selection that encourages local brewing appreciation.
The music from the bar could be heard in the room during the late hours.

The real ale selection was extensive and quite a treat after a long day. The bar area had a great community vibe that made it easy to settle in and enjoy a pint.
The lack of en-suite facilities was a hassle, and I found the shared bathroom trek rather inconvenient. The internet connection was spotty, often forcing me to venture out of my room just to get a decent signal. the noise from the pub below was noticeable at night, which might hamper sleep for light sleepers. My room felt a bit cramped, diminishing the overall comfort as well.

Had a boss time! The bar downstairs had a sound range of real ales, made my stay proper enjoyable. Only downside was the shared shower—had to trot down the hall during the night. But overall, a dead good spot, la!

Great location and comfortable stay
I had a nice single room that was quite spacious with a soft bed, electric plugs right by the bed, and a kettle, which made my stay feel a bit more homely. It was really convenient being so close to the bus stop and I enjoyed the lively atmosphere in the pub below, especially on pizza night! My only issue was the shared bathroom situation, as it felt a bit like a trek to get to them.

Had a solid time, but sharing the bathroom was a bit of a hassle for me. The clean room and fresh towels were choice, though!

I had a nice single room that was quite spacious, with a soft bed and electric plugs right by the bed. The kettle and fridge were a great touch for keeping drinks cool. It got a bit warm at night, but there was a fan provided which helped. The shared bathroom facilities were clean and I didn’t face any issues accessing them.

this place is pretty cool! the room was clean and comfy with everything i needed like a kettle and a fridge. i loved the vibe of the pub downstairs, especially on pizza night! owner gilly was super friendly and made me feel welcome. the shared shower rooms were always clean and i had no issues with them.
the stairs were kinda steep and not great for anyone with trouble walking. also, a hairdryer would have been nice to have in the room.
